If you have an Android phone from Cricket Wireless, you might have come across Google’s locked bootloader policy. This restriction prevents rooting, installing custom ROMs and performing other actions that modders typically do to change the phone’s software. Fortunately, there are ways to bypass Google lock on an Android phone from Cricket Wireless. All of them require root access and one or two additional apps or tools, but they all work with most Android devices running the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system.
In order to prevent fraud and theft of smartphones, most service providers require customers to lock their phones with a passcode before they can connect to their network. Though this may seem like an inconvenience, it’s meant to protect you and your phone if your device gets lost or stolen. Cricket, one of the more popular providers in the United States, uses Google software to lock its devices and prevent them from being used on other networks. If you want to move your Cricket phone over to another provider, you’ll have to first unlock it.
1) Freeze your device
The first way to bypass google lock is by freezing your device. This can be done by putting the device in the freezer for at least thirty minutes or until it is completely frozen. After this, you need to remove the battery and SIM card before putting it back in the phone. You must then wait at least two hours for the device to warm up before turning it back on.
If you are unable or do not want to freeze your phone, then you should try using a laptop or computer with internet connection and downloading an app called Android System Recovery (ASR). This app will help you download stock firmware and install it onto your phone so that it bypasses google lock. The last option for bypassing google lock on your cricket phone is to use fastboot commands. First, boot into fastboot mode by pressing the volume down and power button simultaneously when powering on the device. Once in fastboot mode, connect your device to a laptop/computer and enter fastboot devices into cmd prompt. If there are no errors listed, enter fastboot flash system system-image-name. You may now reboot the device after installation has completed.
2) Reset your device
If you have no idea how, here is how to reset your device:
- Turn off your phone, then turn it back on. If the lock screen is still there, continue with step 2. 2. Press and hold the power button until the power down option appears at the top of your screen. 3. Choose power down. 4. Pull out the battery if it’s removable, or use an external charger to take out any power sources from the device before re-inserting the battery or connecting it to a charger again and turning it back on 5. Once you see the lock screen again, press both volume buttons for about 10 seconds in order for them to work properly again and allow you access into your phone . Do not worry if the alarm goes off while you’re pressing these two buttons – this will only happen when your phone is factory reset and can be silenced by pressing the power button for about 5 seconds. If nothing has changed after performing steps 1-5, go to Settings>General>Reset > Reset All Settings > Erase all content and settings > Delete all user data. After this, go to General>Restore Device>Restore Backup of Device (or whatever was used last)
3) Use an alternative SIM card
Cricket has always been known for their affordable rates and easy-to-purchase phones. They also have the same plan options as other providers, so it’s no wonder they’re one of the top providers in America. The only downside is that when you get your phone, it comes with a SIM card locked to the provider. Fortunately, there are ways around this restriction! Simply take out the card that came with the device and replace it with an alternative. You may need to contact customer service or visit a store to do this depending on what type of phone you have.
To avoid going through all those steps, try our third option: Unlocking your cricket phone! If you want to keep your original SIM card from being overwritten then follow these steps:

The process can be quite simple and takes about 30 minutes if you know what you’re doing. It does require a computer and internet access (though it can be done offline). However, the time invested will save you tons in the long run!
There are many ways to bypass google lock on a cricket phone. In order to bypass the google lock, you can do it in one of three ways. The first way is to sign out of your account and delete the password from your phone. This will give you access without any restrictions. The second way is by using an app that unlocks it for you after completing certain tasks like downloading an app or watching ads. Third, if you have an Android device, then use ADB while your phone is still connected with your computer and type in: adb shell pm disable com.google.android which will disable the google services and make it so that it doesn’t restrict anything anymore. You may need to use this command multiple times until it stops asking you for a password when opening apps. If this doesn’t work, restarting your phone may fix the problem. And if not, you may want to factory reset your phone. Keep in mind that this will erase all information on your device and restore it to its original state when it was first bought. Once the phone has been factory reset, go into settings and find Google. Select Clear Play Data under General Preferences and log back into your account before continuing on with normal use.
